Nirmol Rozario
Nirmol Rozario (born 1 October 1961) is a Bangladeshi Catholic social worker who started his social activities after his college studies. He has become a renowned social leader through his social and political endeavors. He is the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Christian Association, Secretary of the Christian Religious Welfare Trust under Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bangladesh and Founder Chairman of the Central Association of Christian Co-operatives Ltd.
He became an orphan early in his life. In 2005 he was elected the secretary of the Christian Cooperative Credit Union Ltd, Dhaka, which is the biggest cooperative in Bangladesh. In 2008 he was elected president of the credit union. It has 45,000 members and about BDT 3,000,000,000/= (equivalent to USD 37,911,500) as existing capital up to March 2014. During his service of presidentcy, this cooperative won the national "Best Cooperative Award" in 2009 from the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
==Early life and background==
Nirmol Rozario was born on October 1, 1961 in the village of Dhorenda under Savar P.S in Bangladesh. At his early age he was baptized with the name "Nirmol", which means ''pure'' or ''crystal''. His father is late Padrew Rozario and mother late Virginia Gomes. His father died when he was 5 years old, and when he was 8, his mother died. Two of his relatives and nearby Dhorenda Church helped him to continue his studies and to have a normal life.
